Morning Musings

"Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youth shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary;they shall walk and not be faint." ~Isaiah 40:28-31
Life is hard. People come and go from our lives, loved ones leave this world too soon, disaster strikes and our faith is tested. As Christians we know that hard times are coming, in John 16:33 Jesus says, "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." Many times when hard times come people are rocked to their core. They don't know how to continue, or where to go next. But as Christians we have HOPE! His name is Jesus Christ and He has overcome the world. He already knows all that is going to happen, and He doesn't just watch it happen from afar, He is right there next to you through it all. We have the choice to wait for the Lord and trust Him, lean on Him and let Him renew our strength, or we can try to do it on our own and grow weak and exhausted because we do not have the strength to do life on our own. But when we put our hope and faith in the Lord He will give us strength. We will run and not be weary, walk and not be faint.

Roots

Isn't our God awesome?! When we look around and see everything that He has made, and ask Him to teach us through His creation.... He will! All the earth shouts His praise and we can learn if we only listen. "But ask the animals and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky and they will tell you, or speak to the earth and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you. Which of these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In His hand is the life of every living creature, and the breath of mankind." Job 12:7-12 This past week God has been using a sweet horse named Remnant to speak to me. (Remnant is the closest horse in the picture above.) For those of you who don't know Remnant's story, he is a survivor of Hurricane Katrina. This sweet horse was stuck in chest high water, entangled in downed trees and limbs, for three weeks before he was rescued.
